GoFast Entertainment’s Drift and Drag – 4/23/2016

The Arizona drift scene has at least 2 events per month. One of them is housed at Wild Horse Pass where GoFast Entertainment puts on a monthly Drift and Drag racing event. It is joined by hundreds of spectators and a little over one hundred drivers. That seems like a cluster of drivers, right? Wrong. They have developed a system that works, especially for drifting. Each group is broken down into 2 run groups for drifting – Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced. This has eliminated a lot of wasting time sitting on Grid. This system has given beginners a great advantage when coming to the event for seat time.

As the night passed on, there were quite a few crashes into the tires/krails. The fire safety team was nothing short of prepared for any sort of incident on the track. At one point, Allen Aiken crashed into the tire wall, but was able to drive off of track immediately. The fire safety team wasn’t able to get to him before he drove off track, so they chased him down through the pits just to make sure he was ok. We can count at least 4 cars that hit the tire wall that night and luckily each one of them drove home with their cars not on a tow truck.

This event we decided to shoot drag racing as well. GoFast is hosting a series for them called The Top 10 Fastest Cars where they will get a nice prize at the end of the series.
